Saudi Arabia Announces Eid Al-Fitr Holiday for Private Sector
In a recent announcement, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia has declared a four-day holiday for the private and non-profit sectors in the Kingdom in celebration of Eid Al-Fitr.
The holiday is scheduled to commence at the end of the working day on Monday, Ramadan 29, which falls on April 8, 2024, according to the Islamic lunar calendar. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of adherence to the stipulated regulations, specifically pointing to the second paragraph of Article 24 of the executive regulation of the Labor Law.
Additionally, the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) had earlier announced an extended Eid holiday for banks and financial institutions, starting from the end of work on April 4th and resuming on April 14th.
Eid Al-Fitr is a festive time celebrated by Muslims to mark the conclusion of Ramadan. It is a period of joy, where families and communities come together to share meals, exchange gifts, and participate in communal prayers.
