How to Transfer Mobile Numbers to Other Networks?.
The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) allows transferring mobile numbers between the networks.
If you are not satisfied with the service offered by the current mobile network, you may transfer your mobile number to another network without any charges. Both prepaid and postpaid lines can be transferred to any other network.
Currently, only the three major networks are offering mobile number portability services, STC, Mobily and Zain. The service is totally free.
Visit your nearest service provider office (to which network you want to transfer your mobile number) along with the valid Iqama and existing SIM card. Register a request to port your line to their network. They will issue a new SIM for you.
The process will take up to 72 hrs. Once the porting process is successfully completed, your old SIM will automatically deactivate and the new SIM will start functioning.
Keep in mind, once you transfer your line to another network, you will have to wait 3 months to transfer again.
