25% Traffic Fine Discount Excludes Nine Violations, Muroor Clarifies

The Saudi Traffic Department (Muroor) has clarified that the 25% fine discount, effective from April 18, 2024, in accordance with artcile 75, will not cover nine types of traffic violations. The list of excluded violations has been published on the official account on the X platform. Here are the nine violations that do not qualify for the 25% discount.

  1. Drifting
  2. Traffic accidents due to overtaking or speeding
  3. Violations of establishing or operating driving schools
  4. Violations of vehicle weights, dimensions and inspection
  5. Workshop violations
  6. Violations of issuing international driving licenses
  7. Seizure of vehicle registration plates or driving licenses
  8. Showroom violations
  9. Selling or destroying vehicles outside the Kingdom

This announcement comes after the Ministry of Interior’s previous announcement on April 4th, which offered a 50% relaxation for traffic violations up to April 18 this year and a 25% reduction for violations recorded after that date. The concession will continue for six months.

The excluded violations are not eligible for the 25% discount, but motorists can still benefit from the previous 50% relaxation for traffic violations up to April 18 this year and a 25% reduction for violations recorded after that date.

The new initiative aims to improve road safety and compliance with traffic regulations in the Kingdom. While the new discount offers relief for many motorists, those involved in the specified violations will not benefit from the reduced fines. Motorists are advised to stay informed about the latest traffic regulations to avoid penalties and ensure road safety for all.
