A viral video circulating on social media has sparked widespread discussion after claiming that a Saudi citizen convicted of murder is awaiting the implementation of a qisas (retaliatory execution) sentence following a fatal dispute over SAR 2.
According to the video and media reports citing it, the incident began when the man stopped at a roadside watermelon stall while returning home and asked about the price of a watermelon.
The seller reportedly told him that each watermelon cost SAR 17. The customer replied that he usually bought one for SAR 15, leading to an argument between the two.
During the exchange, the seller allegedly told the customer, “I won’t sell to you even for SAR 100.”
The video claims the customer then grabbed the knife being used by the seller and fatally stabbed him.
According to the circulating account, the suspect was arrested, prosecuted, and later convicted of murder. The court reportedly sentenced him to qisas (retaliatory execution).
The video further claims that the sentence is expected to be carried out in around 20 days, although this timing has not been officially confirmed by Saudi authorities.
