Saudi Arabia Bans Use Of National Flag, Emblem For Promotional Purposes
Using Saudi Flag, Emblem for Promotional Purposes is Illegal
Saudi Arabia has banned using its National flag and emblem in promotions, and the Ministry of Commerce warns that anyone who breaks the ban will face legal consequences.
The ministry clarified that the ban is for individuals and businesses to use the national flag in commercial promotions, including goods and products, publications, brochures and gifts. The ban also covers pictures and the names of Saudi leaders and officials.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia issued a circular to businesses four years ago prohibiting the use of the State’s emblem of two swords and a palm tree in commercial dealings.
The Saudi national flag bears the name of Allah and the state symbol of two swords and a palm tree. The kingdom will commemorate its 92nd national day on September 23rd. “This is our home” is this year’s Saudi National Day slogan.
