Saudi Arabia’s passport has strengthened its global standing after climbing four places in the latest Henley Passport Index 2026. The Saudi passport now ranks 54th globally, up from 58th in 2025, while offering access to 91 destinationswithout the need for a prior visa.
According to the Henley Passport Index, Saudi passport holders can now travel to 91 destinations through visa-free entry, visa on arrival, or electronic travel authorization (eTA).
This marks another year of steady improvement for the Saudi passport, continuing its upward trend in recent years. The latest ranking reflects the Kingdom’s expanding diplomatic relations, growing number of bilateral agreements, and stronger international engagement.
The Henley Passport Index is one of the world’s leading passport rankings and is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). It measures passport strength by the number of destinations citizens can enter without obtaining a visa in advance.
The Saudi passport currently provides access to a wide range of destinations across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. These include countries such as China, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and South Africa, in addition to GCC member states and several Arab countries.
Experts say the continued improvement in the Saudi passport’s ranking reflects growing international confidence in the Kingdom and highlights the success of its efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with countries around the world. These developments have made international travel more convenient for Saudi citizens.
The latest ranking also coincides with Saudi Arabia’s progress in tourism, investment, aviation, and the hosting of major international events. These developments have helped enhance the Kingdom’s global presence and contributed to additional visa facilitation and exemption agreements.
