Fines Up to 1 Million Riyals for Hiring Workers Without Jobs

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development aims to criminalize the act of recruiting professional and domestic workers without a job with the employer. Those found involved in this violation may face a fine ranging from 200,000 to 1 million riyals, along with deportation for expatriates.

In a draft project presented on the β€œIstitlaa” platform, the Ministry clarified that it is illegal for any individual or entity to recruit a worker without having a job for him. Violators will be subject to fines and potential deportation for expatriates.

Additionally, individuals providing labor services in violation of this system, or advertising such services without a license, will face fines between 200,000 and 500,000 riyals. Expatriate violators will be subject to deportation.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is tasked with overseeing and reporting violations under this law to the Public Prosecution for potential criminal prosecution.

The Ministry underscores its commitment to enhancing the labor system by introducing measures to criminalize the practice of labor service brokering. This includes individuals, whether citizens or residents, who market labor services in contravention of residency or labor regulations.
