HRSD: Employers Must Provide Seats for Sales Cashiers and Reception Staff

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has reminded private sector establishments that they are required to provide seating for employees working in sales cashier and reception positions.

According to the ministry, employers must provide chairs specifically for employees to use during working hours. The ministry clarified that chairs located in rest or break areas do not fulfill this requirement.

HRSD also encouraged employees to report violations if their employer fails to provide the required seating. Reports can be submitted through the ministry’s official application.
