In These 3 Cases, Workers in Saudi Arabia Get 5 Days of Paid Leave
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has recently clarified three cases in which workers are eligible for five days of paid leave. According to Article 113 of the labor law, employees have the right to take paid leave under specific circumstances. Here’s what you need to know.
5 Days of Paid Leave in These 3 Cases
Workers can take five days of paid leave for:
- Marriage: Workers can take time off to get married and enjoy their new life.
- Death of Close Family: If a spouse, parent, grandparent, child, or grandchild passes away, workers are entitled to time off.
- Birth of a Child: New parents can take time off within the first seven days after the baby is born.
3 Days Off for Sibling’s Death
If a brother or sister passes away, workers can take three days of paid leave. This gives time to grieve and be with family.
Leave Details and Proof
The leave period starts on the date of the relevant event (marriage, birth, or death). Employers have the right to request documentation, such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate, or death certificate, to confirm the circumstances.
Knowing these rules can help you take the time you need for important moments in life.
