The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has launched a new digital “New Muslim” Card service through the Tawakkalna app, making it easier for individuals who embrace Islam in the Kingdom to access and verify their official records.
The service was inaugurated on Sunday by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to expand digital government services and enhance the user experience.
The new system is designed to fully automate the process of embracing Islam, from submitting an application to issuing the official digital card. Once an application is approved, the card will automatically appear in the user’s Tawakkalna app.
The ministry said integrating the service with Tawakkalna allows users to access their digital card at any time while enabling authorities to verify it quickly and securely.
The project was developed in cooperation with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), ensuring seamless digital integration and reliable authentication across government platforms.
Each digital card includes a QR code that can be scanned to confirm its authenticity and verify that it has been officially issued by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
The ministry said the service will also improve data quality and generate more accurate reports and statistics to support planning and decision-making.
The launch is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation under Vision 2030, which aims to make government services more efficient, accessible, and fully integrated through digital platforms.
