The Absher platform in Saudi Arabia now offers a convenient service that allows a resident head of household to issue an Iqama (residence permit) for a dependent family member who holds a border number.
This feature is especially useful for expatriate families when a new family member arrives in the Kingdom on a permanent family visa. Instead of visiting Jawazat offices or going through lengthy paperwork, residents can now complete the process online through their Absher account.
Who can use this service?
This service is available to residents who are listed as the head of the household in the family’s residency records. It applies specifically to dependents such as spouses or children who have entered Saudi Arabia and have been issued a border number but not yet an Iqama.
Steps to access the service
- Log in to the Absher platform
- Go to Family Members Services
- Select Residents Services
- Choose the relevant beneficiary
- Click on Add Dependent
Things to keep in mind
- The dependent must already be in Saudi Arabia and must have a valid border number.
- Any applicable fees must be paid before finalizing the process.
- Make sure the dependent is medically insured and their biometric data is registered.
Once the application is submitted and approved, the residency permit (Iqama) will be issued and can be collected or viewed through Absher.
