A salary certificate is an official document that confirms your employment and outlines exactly what you earn. It is an officially issued digital document linked to your employment contract on the Qiwa platform, including your basic salary, allowances, bonuses, and total pay.
Because it is issued through an official government-linked platform, institutions generally consider it more reliable than a standard employer letter. Many banks, embassies, and other organizations can verify the certificate digitally through Qiwa, making the process faster and more convenient.
You will typically need a salary certificate when applying for a personal loan, credit card, or mortgage. It may also be required for vehicle leases, apartment rentals, embassy visa applications, university enrollment, and other official procedures where proof of income and employment is needed.
Two Types of Salary Certificates — Know Before You Apply
Before you issue your certificate, you’ll need to choose between two types. Getting this wrong means starting over, so it’s worth understanding the difference upfront.
Total Salary Certificate
This shows your overall monthly pay as a single number. Most banks and landlords accept this — it answers the question “how much do you earn?” cleanly and simply.
Salary Details Certificate
This provides a full breakdown: basic salary, each allowance listed individually, and any bonuses. Embassies, universities, and certain government bodies typically ask for this when they need a more complete picture of your income structure.
Quick tip: If you’re not sure which one to get, ask the institution requesting it before you issue the certificate. One quick message or call saves you from having to repeat the process.
How to Issue a Salary Certificate
Here’s the step-by-step process to request a new salary certificate:
- Log in to your Qiwa individual account at https://qiwa.sa
- Go to Services and select Salary Certificate.
- Click the Issue Certificate button in the top right corner of the page.
- Select the employment contract for which you need the certificate, then click Next step.
- Choose the entity you’re submitting the certificate to — bank, embassy, company, university, and so on. If your specific entity isn’t listed, select Other and type the name in manually, then click Next step.
- Select your certificate type — Total Salary for a single overall figure, or Salary Details for a full breakdown — then click Next step.
- Review the summary page to make sure everything looks correct, then click Submit request.
How to View Your Salary Certificates
Need to check a certificate you’ve already issued? Here’s how:
- Log in to your Qiwa individual account.
- Go to Services and select Salary Certificates.
- All your certificates will be listed on this page. You can search by establishment name or certificate ID using the search bar at the top.
- Click View details on the certificate you want to open.
It’s worth knowing that certificates don’t disappear when they expire. Qiwa keeps your full history accessible, which is useful if you ever need to reference a certificate from a previous job or a past application.
How to Verify a Salary Certificate
This section is useful whether you’ve received a certificate from someone else and want to confirm it’s genuine, or if you want to double-check your own before submitting it.
Qiwa provides a public Certificate Validation tool for exactly this purpose. Here’s how to use it:
- Visit the Qiwa Certificate and License Validation page at: qiwa.sa/en/tools-and-calculators/certificate
- Select the certificate type as Salary Certificate.
- Enter the employee’s 10-digit Iqama number.
- Enter the certificate number — 6 digits, followed by a dash, followed by 8 digits.
- Click Validate Certificate to see the result instantly.
No login required. No paperwork. Any bank officer, HR manager, or embassy clerk can do this in under a minute — which is exactly why Qiwa-issued certificates carry far more credibility than a typed employer letter.
How to Download or Print a Salary Certificate
Need a physical copy or want to save a PDF? Here’s how:
- Log in to your Qiwa individual account.
- Go to Services and select Salary Certificates.
- Find the certificate you want in the list.
- In the Certificate Preview section, click either Download to save a digital copy or Print to send it directly to your printer.
The downloaded certificate can be shared digitally or attached to official applications.
A Qiwa salary certificate makes it easier to prove your income and employment details whenever required. Whether you are applying for a loan or submitting documents to an embassy or university, knowing how to issue and use the certificate can save you time and avoid unnecessary hassle.
