The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has announced a new initiative allowing holders of expired visit visas in Saudi Arabia to extend their visas for the purpose of final departure, regardless of the visa type or category.
Grace period started on June 26, 2025
The grace period began on 1 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to June 26, 2025. Affected individuals now have 30 days to settle their status by paying any applicable fines and fees and arrange their departure from the Kingdom.
Apply through Absher’s “Tawasul” service
Jawazat stated that the extension request can be submitted electronically through the “Tawasul” service available on the Absher platform, operated by the Ministry of Interior.
This limited-time initiative is intended to help individuals leave the country legally and avoid further legal complications. Jawazat has urged all eligible visitors to take advantage of this opportunity before the 30-day deadline ends.
