A new regulation has come into effect in Saudi Arabia, doubling the fee for renewing the exit/re-entry visa of expatriates who are outside the Kingdom.
Previously, the renewal fee for an exit/re-entry visa was 100 Riyals per month. However, the fee has now been increased to 200 Riyals per month. For two months, the fee is 400 Riyals, for three months, it is 600 Riyals, and for four months, it is 800 Riyals. The revised fee structure is applicable to all expatriates who wish to extend their exit/re-entry visa while staying outside Saudi Arabia.
The exit/re-entry visa extension can be completed through the Absher or Muqeem platforms. It is important to ensure that the extension is done well in advance to avoid any inconvenience. If the extension is processed through Absher Business, a service charge of 103.50 Riyals will apply. If done through Muqeem, the equivalent amount will be deducted as Muqeem points.
Additionally, exit/re-entry visas will only be extended if the applicant’s Iqama (residency permit) is valid. Therefore, expatriates must ensure that their Iqama is renewed before applying for a visa extension.
To minimize financial costs, it is advisable to issue an exit/re-entry visa with a validity period that matches the expected duration of your stay abroad, rather than relying on extending it from outside the Kingdom.
