The Saudi cabinet has recently approved amendments to the country’s residency law. One of the important changes is the increase in fees for renewing iqama and re-entry visas in cases where residents are outside the Kingdom. These fees have been doubled as a result of the amendments, which will have an impact on expats outside who wish to renew their visas to return to Saudi Arabia. New Fees for Renewing Exit and Re-Entry Visa from Outside the Kingdom

According to the new amendment, the fee for a single exit and re-entry visa with a maximum duration of two months is SAR 200. If the resident is inside the Kingdom, an additional fee of SAR 100 will be charged for each additional month. However, if the resident is outside the Kingdom, the fee for the additional month will be doubled to SAR 200.

For example, if you are currently outside Saudi Arabia on an exit and re-entry visa and wish to extend your visa for an additional three months, the cost has doubled from SAR 300 to SAR 600.

Updated Fees for Renewing Multi-Entry Visas from Outside Saudi Arabia

For multi-entry visas, the fee is set at SAR 500 for a period of 3 months. If the resident is inside the Kingdom, an additional fee of SAR 200 will be charged for each additional month. Again, if the resident is outside the Kingdom, the fee for the additional month will be doubled, and it will be SAR 400.

Increase in Fees for Renewing Iqama from Outside the Kingdom

In addition, the Cabinet approved an amendment to the residency law regarding the renewal of Iqama for domestic workers and dependents of expat workers. As per the amendment, the fee for Iqama renewal when outside the Kingdom will be doubled what is within the Kingdom through the Absher portal.
