How to Renew Your Vehicle License (Istimara) using Absher

Renewing your vehicle registration license, or Istimara, is crucial to avoid penalties and legal trouble. Fortunately, you can do this online through your MOI Absher account. In this article, we explain the requirements and step-by-step procedure for renewing your Istimara in Saudi Arabia.

Before renewing your Istimara, you need to meet the following conditions:

• Have a valid vehicle insurance policy.
• Have a valid Periodic Vehicle Inspection, also know as FAHAS.
• Pay renewal fees and late fees, if applicable.
• Pay any outstanding traffic fines.
• Ensure that the Istimara is valid for less than 180 days.

How to Renew Istimara

To renew your Vehicle license online, you need to have an Absher account. If you have not created one yet, here is how to register on Absher. Follow these steps to renew your Istimara through your Absher account:

1. Visit the Absher website: https://absher.sa/
2. Select “Individuals” and log in to your account.
3. From the dashboard, select the “Vehicles” option.
4. Select “Vehicle Management.”
5. You will see the vehicles registered in your name. Select the vehicle you need to renew.
6. Then, select the option “Renew Vehicle Registration.”
7. Select the “Confirm” button to renew your Istimara.

Istimara Card Delivery by Post

On the next page, you will see a “Vehicle Registration Renewed Successfully” message. Under that message, there will be an option to select “Request Postal Document Delivery.” By selecting that option, you can request your new Istimara card, which will be delivered by courier to your address.

Istimara Card Delivery Fee

Please note that a delivery charge of SAR 17.25 applies to requests for a new Istimara card to be delivered by post. The new card will be delivered within three working days.

Collecting Istimara Card from Muroor

If you prefer to collect the new card from the traffic police office (Muroor) near you, you need to book a Muroor appointment for the purpose of “Printing an Istimara,” and you can visit the Muroor office on the scheduled date.
