Umrah Visa Updates: Ministry Clarifies Validity and Departure Deadline
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has provided new information regarding the validity of Umrah visas for visitors. According to the latest update, the visa is valid for a period of three months from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia, expiring no later than the 29th of Dhul-Qi’dah, which corresponds to June 7. The duration may vary according to the Umrah program.
This update clarifies the previous announcement, which stated that the visa was valid for three months from the date of issuance, expiring no later than Dhul-Qi’dah 15 of each Hijri year.
The ministry’s clarification came in response to an inquiry on the X platform regarding the validity of the Umrah visa. One of the user asked, “I was issued a visa on January 12 and entered the Kingdom on February 12. When do you start calculating entry from the date of issuance or from entering the Kingdom?”
In response, the ministry stated that “the duration of the visa is three months from the date of entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expiring no later than the 29th of Dhul-Qi’dah, and it may vary according to the Umrah program.”
The ministry also urged pilgrims to abstain from using the visa for employment purposes and to ensure they depart before the expiration date of their visa.
