Dependents over 25 must transfer sponsorship to be able to renew Iqama

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has explained an important condition for renewing the iqama of a dependent resident over 25.

According to Jawazat, if the head of the family needs to renew the iqama of all dependents, and one of his son or daughter has exceeded the age of 25 years, then his or her iqama must first be transferred.

The response came from Jawazat’s official Twitter account, where one of the followers asked, “Is it possible to renew the iqama of one of my dependents, who has exceeded the age of 25 years, given that the Labor office refuses to transfer sponsorship before its renewal”.

Jawazat replied, “The directives stipulate the transfer of services for those who have reached the age of 25 years as dependent except the spouse. To be able to complete the renewal of iqama, please refer to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development as long as you exceed the legal age.”.
